Triathlon - Part 1, Running 2.6 Miles

We started Max's Triathlon last night.  Sure, our friend Tim is the superstar who will be doing The Outlaw all in one day, a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle, and 26.2 mile run, we're spreading it out to three days because of the 100+ degree weather, and the thick smoke from the mountain fires in the air.  And we are only doing a tenth of each leg, that Tim is doing.

We started last night with the "Run" portion of the race.  We took the path around our neighborhood and back through the open space.  Once we hit 1.3 miles, we turned around and went back home.  That way we knew we'd hit 2.6 miles!

We had a little rain shower,  and pushed our run time off a little for the sun to go down.

All the photos and videos got blurry at this point, not sure what I had done to the camera...let's just call it artsy.

I took him for a run around the pond behind the house.   This chair was the best choice, as it has the largest tires, but oh dear was it heavy.  I was really nervous it was going to tip back, so I took it very slow!  And we couldn't run him the whole time because of the unsteadiness of the chair.  But, we jogged it a few times.

By the time we turned around at mile 1.3, it was getting dark, which was fine with Max!

So, leg one is done!  Tim starts at 6:00am GMT tomorrow morning.  We'll be watching his progress through the day, and posting as well as Max's progress.  Tonight, Max will do the Swim portion of his triathlon.  We're off to pick up his raft now, and wait until the pool clears a little at dinnertime to take the swim!

If you want to show your support for Tim, and Max for their races, you can donate here.  And please feel free to add your cheers to this page, and Max's Facebook page for Tim to read!
