Of course, we immediately remember spending over 20 days in the hospital just a few months ago for gastro problems, and don't want to even go back there in our minds. But, it's to a point that we need to get it checked out.
In an effort to not share too much information, let's just say it STINKS around here lately. And that stink seems to be causing him pain, and then it gets very messy, with lots of wipes being used, then he's back to being happy. We're seeing GI on Tuesday to see if perhaps there is bacterial overgrowth, since he was on antibiotics for so long. Or, if perhaps the area of colon that was left is not absorbing as it should, and things aren't being absorbed as they should.
For the most part, Max has still been feeling happy. Towards the end of the day, he's just wanting to lay in his bed and left alone for a while. So, while I'm cooking dinner, I'll put him in his room and let him rest. He's been doing well in school, and even wrote one of his friends a card, in response to the card he got. He used his Dynavox computer to write it out in the order he wanted, and I typed it up. We printed that out and pasted it to the inside of the card, and he signed it with MAX.
He wrote:
Thank you for writing to me.
I like to watch soccer, basketball, and motorcycle races on t.v.
My birthday is on Halloween.
I hope we can visit soon on Skype.
I wrote this letter using my computer that helps me talk.
I am happy you are my friend.
Max
This morning, Max's teacher needed a photo of him to put on the front of a project they'll be working on this afternoon. I looked through and didn't really have any recent ones of just him. So, I got out my camera and luckily for me, he was in a smiling mood.
And luckily for you, I have them on the computer to share!

I'll be sure to update after his appointment on Tuesday with GI. And hopefully it's nothing serious that can just be fixed easily. Meanwhile, we'll be enjoying the Fall weather, and waiting for all the leaves to turn yellow!

I love the pictures of him looking over his glasses. Hope there's nothing serious going on with his GI system. Hugs.
I think it's hilarious that he is nearly always looking over his glasses unless he's really working to look at something, then he'll look through them.
He's not had any fevers, and is keeping his food down, so we're not terribly worried...but we just know it's not normal so we're going to get it checked out. Just adding another specialist to the list.
That brings it up to an even 10 specialists he sees.
sure hope you can figure out whats up. Love the pics, Max is so expressive.
Thanks for the smiles Max. I needed them. I hope your tummy feels better soon.
aww hope its nothing serious. Those pictures are fabulous and I'm digging his blue frame!
