The boys first met back in 2013, and wow have they both grown since then!
We were the only two CblX families there, but it was great for the doctors to get to see the boys and their similarities. It's our hope to get more and more of the boys together to see if things like this are common among all of them. . .
Max was also able to meet some of his other pals with organic acidemias. I've been friends online with people in this group for over a decade. So for them to get to meet Max was special too.
It is a special thing to get together with so many families who have children with similar metabolic disorders. Sure there are a lot of little differences, and some big ones too, but everyone gets it. And for a couple of days you're together and not worried about your child being loud, or stares, or questions of "what's wrong with him?"...it's just excitement and happiness to see each other and our kids.
