Wednesday morning, we woke up to the surgery team. Anytime Max is in the hospital under the surgery team, we get woken up by them. This is because they do their rounds before the sun comes up. I think they might be vampires.
They were happy to see he had eaten all day, and his stomach was very soft and he was moving things along, so we got the go ahead to go home.
We had a nurse that was on top of it, and we were out of there by noon!
On the way home, Max was singing sweet songs about going home. We were all happy to have gotten through this hospital stay without an emergency surgery.
But, once we got home and settled, I got right down to work researching transverse colon volvulus. The hours of playing Dr. Google left me wondering how the mind has capacity to take in and digest so much information. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would learn about so many medical things.
He will be having a follow-up with the surgeon in a couple of weeks. He'll also have some imaging done that day too. The new pictures will hopefully give an idea of what is happening in his intestines, and what can be done to fix it.
That's the quick update...I'm still trying to catch up on sleep and trying to get this crick in my back that forms after every hospital stay to go away!
