What Happened???

When we were in the ED (Emergency Department) last week, one of Max's doctors came in the room and exclaimed, "What HAPPENED?!...He's so BIG!!!".

Our doctors have seen Max since he was just four months old. I've been taking photos of him in the hospital since then. And I was struck this time at just how huge he looks...I guess I still think of him as that tiny baby that was swallowed up by the huge hospital bed.

His first long-term EEG...5 months old...

His most recent...a few days ago...

The Monster has grown so far beyond my expectations when this photo was taken...

But, he still has a Yellow Bird keeping him company...

I'm glad I have photos of the hospital stays...they are part of his story. And each time we bring him home, I think, what a story he has to tell.

So sorry to hear Max has been sick. Glad to hear you are home now. I hope yellow bird provided some comfort.

I love it when we see doctors that have known Ashlea since she was a baby. They are always amazed at how much she has grown.

Sorry he had to go back to the hospital but yeah, he's definitely grown some since.

Thank you everyone for the visit! I agree, Alison, it's a sense of accomplishment when the doctors acknowledge how much he's grown. I know he is the same doctor that was unsure that we would take him home from that first hospital visit!

He gets his length from my dad's side of the family! I can't imagine the day when he's over 6 ft tall like my brothers, uncles, and grandpa!

You do indeed have stories to tell. We've had three major hospitalizations (though one was heart surgery & scheduled, so maybe I shouldn't count that), and pics like the ones you share don't faze me anymore. But I'm sure they freak out all kinds of people! LOL
