Weekend update...

I've been meaning to update for a few days...but my days get busy, and then it's time to get Max into bed, and then I'm wiped out. But I want to get the weekend out of my head so I can focus on the week ahead!

Saturday was a pretty brave day for me. I had to ask the germaphobe in me to step aside so we could get some things accomplished as a whole family. First stop was The Children's Hospital for a blood draw.

About a month ago, Max's metabolic doctors increased his dose of b12 injections. We had to get a level before starting the increased dose, and now that he's been on the dose for a while, get a new blood draw to see if the increased dose has helped bring the bad chemicals in his blood down.

We got there at 11:15, they close at 12:00...only ones there, in and out in 10 minutes. No contact with anyone but the phlebotomist...that's the way we like it!!

From there, we went to the Kid's Mobility Expo, to see if there was any equipment there we could see for Max. We didn't see anything that he needs, but we saw our durable medical equipment rep., my employees/Max's home nurse, and the people with Variety Colorado, who got us Max's chill-out chair last year.

We also got an awesome surprise of running into my friend, Jenny! We chatted with her, and her husband for a good while, until Max let us know he was ready to get to movin'!

I was nervous to take Max into the Expo, because it was a crowd...albeit a very small crowd...but I wanted Steve in there too to get to see the equipment, and for that to happen, Max had to come in too.

Our rule of thumb these days is walk on opposite ends of people visibly ill, or coughing. And worst case, leave. We didn't run into any sickies, so we had a nice time seeing the stuff, and catching up with people in our little community of special needs.

We got home right before the weather turned on us...and woke up this morning to a fresh coating of snow! Luckily this time, Steve was here to dig us out! I had a few errands that had to get done today, grocery shopping, and picking up Max's prescriptions.

We got out and got the things we needed, and back home to the warm fire soon enough!

Now we're settling into sleep, and I have a full plate this week. Max's new OT starts tomorrow. Steve heads west for work Tuesday. Speech therapy Wednesday. Take Max to get his AFO's reshaped Thursday. Collapse Friday...oh I mean start my Thanksgiving grocery shopping Friday.

Hopefully I'll have a less fragmented update next time! Until then...

Hope your week is more settled.
Love the title of your blog.
I took my two youngest boys to see Where the Wild Things Are. They both enjoyed it.
